Well, finally Football is Back! It seemed to sneak up on me. One more season of picks with dinner on the line. The week one picks are:
1.) Atlanta Falcons at home (-2.5) vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Falcons don't seem to have improved in the off season and this young Bucs squad is just one year older but better. Devonta Freeman is a legit star in the running to balance Julio Jones in the passing game. However, their offensive line is sub par. Expect Mike Evans to have a big day and look for new starting TE, Cameron Brate in the red zone.
PREDICTION: BUCCANEERS
2.) Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Tennessee Titans
Everybody is excited about the Titans fielding a better team on both sides. They have a young, physical OL, a stacked backfield and a Head Coach who knows how to coach up Mariota. However, I expect the Vikings will rally in the wake of Bridgewater's injury.
PREDICTION: VIKINGS
3.) Philadelphia Eagles at home (-3.5) vs. Cleveland Browns
Is it a good idea to start Carson Wentz? We're going to find out and they better be right. The Browns look like they are headed in the right direction, but it's a long road ahead.
PREDICTION: EAGLES
4.) Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5) at New York Jets
Both teams need a win to start the season, but a strong home dog in week one? NAH.
PREDICTION: JETS
5.) New Orleans Saints at home (-1.5) vs Oakland Raiders
The Saints will score a lot of points but they will give up a lot more.
PREDICTION: RAIDERS
6.) Kansas City Chiefs at home (-6.5) vs. San Diego Chargers
The Chiefs are stacked and ready to roll.
PREDICTION: CHIEFS
7.) Baltimore Ravens at home (-3) vs. Buffalo Bills
Neither of these teams impresses me, so I'll go with my gut.
PREDICTION: BILLS
8.) Houston Texans at home (-8) vs. Chicago Bears
I'm not big on the Texans but the Bears are atrocious.
PREDICTION: TEXANS
9.) Green Bay Packers (-5.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Both teams neeed to shoe me something. The Jags need to demonstrate they really are a team to be reckoned with. Winning at home against a perennial contender like the Packers would be a good first start. Oh, and the points are too high.
PREDICTION: JAGUARS TO COVER
10.) Seattle Seahawks at home (-10.5) vs. Miami Dolphins
Dolphins suck.
PREDICTION: SEAHAWKS
11.) Dallas Cowboys at home (PK) vs. New York Giants
Eli Manning versus Dak Prescott? Ill take Eli.
PREDICTION: GIANTS
12.) Indianapolis Colts at home (-3) vs. Detroit Lions
The Lions never fail to disappoint.
PREDICTION: COLTS
13.) Arizona Cardinals at home (-7) vs. New England Patriots
No Brady. No Gronk. Do the math.
PREDICTION: CARDINALS
14.) Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) at Washigton Redskins
Flip a coin.
PREDICTION: STEELERS
15.) Los Angeles Rams (-2.5) at San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are the worst team in football and Chip Kelly can have them.
PREDICTION: RAMS.
