TOP 300 MOVIES OF ALL TIME: #278-"NOSFERATU" (1922)

F.W. Murnau created in "Nosferatu", the quintissential vampire film. They had wanted of course to make an official film adaptation of Bram Stoker's "Dracula", but the estate of the late author would not give their permission.

Words don't really do justice to the eeriness of the set and cinematography. In the mysterious Max Schreck, we get a great lead performance. Justice to him would be paid by Willem Defoe in "Shadow of the Vampire".

This is a movie to be seen to be appreciated.
