Sarah Palin At Bunker Hill Has Seen the White of Mitt Romney's Eyes

"Don't Fire Til You See the Whites Of Their Eyes" was the advice of General Israel Putnam to the men defending Bunker Hill. Today, as Mitt Romney was in New Hampshire declaring his bid for President, Sarah Palin summoned Putnam and placed Mitt Romney's white eyes in her crosshairs. She sounds increasingly like a candidate for that same high office.

Palin took a shot at Romneycare while at Bunker Hill. “In my opinion any mandate coming from government is not a good thing.” She continued.“Even on a state level and even a local level, mandates coming from a governing body, it's tough for a lot of us independent Americans to accept, because we have great faith in the private sectors and our own families, and our own businessmen and women making decisions for ourselves.” She also said Romney was facing a "big challenge" in winning over tea partiers.

She may just be posturing herself as kingmaker, but her comments on Romneycare suggests a more active posture in the campaign. The attention she is garnering from the press is sucking the oxygen from other GOP candidates, but her criticism of Romney absent criticism of his rivals does not make sense unless she has the endorsement of one of the others in mind. I doubt she's touring out of spite of the press or that she's starved for attention. If anything she has no reason to have the press near her and her experience doesn't suggest a craving for attention but would necessitate the opposite. I doubt she's posturing to be kingmaker with a strategic endorsement. She sounds like a candidate.

Below is the video of Mitt Romney's announcement. Not bad. He was focused on the economy at least.
