I can't believe they left out the ozone depletion boondoggle out of the top 5:
On that ozone depletion boondoggle, where alarmists insisted that our use of aerosols created that hole in the ozone, it was all junk science. Not only did the hole not get any smaller, but it has expanded even though we took a huge economic hot by (among other things) banning the best refrigerant we ever invented - freon-12. From Bishop Hill: Ozone hole is back
Rob Schneider reports that the hole in the ozone layer has reappeared:More from Oregon Live: U.N. says Arctic ozone layer at an unprecedented low
Is this because the world did not indeed stop using CFC’s to the extent required to stop the hole? Or is there some other cause than CFS’s in making the hole? And if the latter, how come in the mid 1980′s was it protrayed that CFC’s was the only solution?
What does this teach us about other “there is only one answer” to problems?
The Earth's fragile ozone layer in the Arctic region has suffered a loss of about 40 percent from the start of winter until late March, exceeding the previous seasonal loss of about 30 percent, the World Meteorological Organization said. And here's a shout out to the global warming alarmists from the ozone layer alarmists:
Ozone scientists have said that significant Arctic ozone depletion is possible in the case of a cold and stable Arctic stratospheric winter. Ozone losses occur over the polar regions when temperatures drop below -78 degrees Celsius (-108 Fahrenheit), when clouds form in the stratosphere. That's right boys and girls, it's cold. Just the opposite of what the global warming alarmists have been predicting for decades.
The loss comes despite the U.N. ozone treaty, known as the 1987 Montreal Protocol, which has resulted in cutbacks in ozone-damaging chemicals, such as chlorofluorocarbons, halons and other, that were used in the making of refrigerators, air conditioners, fire extinguishers and even hairspray. So we replaced cheap and effective products with more expensive ones, hurt our economy as a result, and in the end did... NADA!
