TOP 300 MOVIES OF ALL TIME: #285-"HOLD THAT GHOST" (1942)

Comedies always get short shrift on movie lists, especially slapstick. Arthur Lubin directed "Hold That Ghost", one of the three standout Abbott & Costello films.

Bud,Lou and several other are spending the night at a lodge, allegedly haunted. I won't bother to describe some of the comedy because it never does justice.

This movie involves a moving candle, a figure of speech routine and a extended scene where hapless Lou's bedroom is transformed into a casini gaming room.

The Andrews Sisters have a couple numbers, but overall this is just one of the funnier films ever made.
